5/29/2023 0 Comments Mit xpro review![]() Notice I did not say you would receive an answer….maybe just a reply. If you have a question about a lecture or about an assignment, you’ll need to submit a help desk ticket and you’ll receive a reply in up to 3-4 days from a “help desk”. Again, all information required to complete the assignment not provided in the provided media so you’re left to your own to research the material any way you can and then complete the assignment. This might take all day to complete….say 6 or more hours. Other assignments would indicate 90 minutes required to complete required viewing of recorded material and then write 400-600 words on 4 or 5 bullet points. It would take me up to 3 additional hours to complete this assignment. It was suggested that a homework assignment might take 30 minutes to view a recorded session and then answer in essay form (4 or 5 bullet points) in 200-400 words. This means you will have to google the rest of the information needed to be able to complete the assignments. ![]() In fact sometimes they don’t provide nearly enough of the answers to the questions in the assignments. Homework assignments and quizzes will be issued weekly so you may not work ahead. There will be an extraordinary amount of “homework” that will be doled out to participants via an automated “school app” called “Canvas.” Canvas is used by many schools and will let you know how many recorded media items you must watch each week and keep track of your homework and quizzes. This course MIT xPRO Cybersecurity may be considered an extreme cash grab by MIT and just about every other institution offering these recorded media training courses. Also, there should be a clear list of what you will not receive. There should be a more clear description of what you will receive for your $7000. Im sure not all bootcamps are created equal, but can they give you the foundation and inroads to one of the most satisfying careers around. Had I not attended the bootcamp, I still be doing the sales slogging and hating life. I landed a wonderful position 2 months after finishing (mind you I was 43 so no spring chicken either which worked against me) working in game related design making a very comfortable living doing it. But it was the best 6 months and 13k that I ever spent. I mean it had a $13,500 price tag and I was 42 at the time. My mother thought it was a 'dumb' idea to. Mind you I had no experience, only an interest to do so, and I found and joined a local bootcamp in my area. ![]() Then one day I started to get the itch to code. Went to undergraduate for business and earned an MBA years later. I am now 46 and worked in business/sales my entire career. While everyone's experience and outcomes will be different, mine was life changing. I'd like to counter your second statement regarding the 'dumbness' of bootcamps.
